19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized the Russian player secured his first title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging year, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Currently working with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after March of that year.

Success also indicates the Russian has secured 21 championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my children together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

His defensive strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to perform at the top level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an better serve.

He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The pair traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to push for a final set.

Moutet rescued 4 early break points in a close final set before Medvedev broke to 15 to serve for the match.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
